Reproductive health can be defined as “a state of complete physical, mental and social well-being in all matters relating to the reproductive system and to its functions and processes” (United Nations Population Fund, 1995) and includes topics such as human sexual anatomy, sexual reproduction, sexual intercourse, menstruation, and fertility. Sexual health topics include practicing sexual abstinence, avoiding sexual risk behaviors, establishing and maintaining healthy relationships, and practicing safe sex (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, 2007).
